Green Lion Racing Team
The Green Lion Racing Team (GLR) is the Formula Student racing team of the University of Wuppertal and represents the university in international Formula Student competitions. In Formula Student, students develop a racing car in teams and then compete against each other. Formula Student is divided into two main categories, "Formula Student Combustion (FSC)" and "Formula Student Electric (FSE)", which are differentiated by their drive types - combustion engine and electric motor respectively.
The aim of the Green Lion Racing Team is to develop a racing car in accordance with the Formula Student regulations, which can then be used to take part in various Formula Student events. The vehicle is accompanied from the initial design through to assembly, the first test drives and participation in the competition.
Formula Student takes place annually at different race tracks around the world and includes a competition between all participating Formula Student teams in three static and five dynamic categories. In addition to the technical realisation, the students must also develop an overall concept for the vehicle. The individual placings in the various categories and the overall placing compared to all other teams are assessed.
