21st International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED17)
This year, the Chair of Engineering Design took part in the 21st International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED17) from 21/09/2017 - 25/09/2017. The ICED is a conference that is organised every two years by the Design Society. This year's conference was held at the University of British Columbia, which is located on the west coast of Canada in Vancouver.
In the course of the conference, the Chair of Design presented two publications in the field of "Design Methods and Tools" and "Design Theory and Research Methodology". In addition to their own presentations, Prof Peter Gust and Mr Marco Kuhlmeier were also able to gather numerous interesting suggestions for the future direction of the teaching and research activities of the Chair of Design. A total of 544 participants from more than 24 nations took part this year. One pleasing realisation was the high number of 113 of the 537 papers presented by authors from German research institutions. This speaks for the great importance of this field of research in Germany. We would like to thank you for the interesting and inspiring environment and look forward to future Design Society events.
