Construction theory 2
Position in the degree programme:
Compulsory
Workload:
5 LP / 4 SWS
Type of proof:
Portfolio
Learning outcomes / competences:
The students are able to
- create and modify 3D solid models
- create technical drawings and assemblies with these models
- create sheet metal parts as 3D models and drawings
- be able to create robust and change-friendly components and assemblies (structural tree templates / constructive solid geometry)
Contents:
- Introduction to 3D solid modelling (sketch and feature technology) and the derivation of technical drawings from 3D models,
- Fundamentals of assembly design with geometric constraints,
- Use of the assembly models for collision analyses, for the creation of exploded drawings and for the creation of drawings,
- Setting up structure tree templates for robust CAD models
- Introduction to Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) modelling using Boolean operations
- Sheet metal part modelling in the GSD Workbench
The exercises are carried out on the computer. A workstation is provided for each student. The tasks are discussed with the participants. The students then carry out the modelling independently. The formation of small working groups is permitted. The results are presented and discussed in the exercise group. In addition to the exercise groups, collaboration and discussion is possible using the e-learning platform Moodle.
