Position in the degree programme:
Compulsory
Workload:
5 LP / 4 SWS
Type of assessment:
Written examination (3 attempts)
Learning outcomes / competences:
The students are able to
- recognise machine elements in complex constructions and derive the requirements for design and layout
- apply the basic specialist knowledge of selected machine elements in order to achieve their logical and sensible interaction for functional fulfilment
- apply the scientific state of the art of design methods and thinking to machine elements
- recognise calculation documents and methods as well as their application limits for machine elements and be able to work out alternative solutions
- differentiate between and utilise elements of rotary and linear motion
Contents:
- Calculation of axes, shafts and journals, roller and plain bearings, shaft-hub connections, couplings
The contents of the lecture Machine Elements 2 are deepened by self-calculation tasks in the exercises. Students can also intensify the tasks in the tutorials offered under expert supervision.
