Learning outcomes / competences:

Students gain a basic understanding of process models and product development methods. They can apply different methods and assign suitable methods to the product development process. Students are able to differentiate between various process models and are able to develop process models for customised process models and introduce
into companies. Overall, students are able to develop complex products using agile product development methods.
In addition, students gain experience in the area of cooperation with other students in the creation of a project. They learn about project management, self-organisation and group work. They are taught how to work together in a team on a complex scientific task
. At the same time, the written documentation is intended to promote the ability to write a scientific paper. Students are able to work independently on a complex scientific topic over a longer period of time. They learn to organise themselves and to allocate time for given content and stick to it.

Contents:

  • Differentiation between methods and process models

  • Introduction to various process models for product development

  • Overview of value analysis, scenario management, agile product development such as SCRUM and design thinking

  • Introduction to the presentation, development and evaluation of processes

  • Introduction of new methods and processes in companies (change management)
